Birth Certificates Legalization for Belgium in M.P.

When one travels to Belgium for work purpose and family is also traveling along, then one needs family member's birth certificates and marriage certificate to be legalized (topic of "Legalisation" is covered in a separate post. ). For this following process should be followed. (This process is true for M.P. Govt documents.) . Here I summarise the process in following steps:
  1. First get the birth certificate issued from the respective municipal authorities. Normally authorities issue this certificate in Hindi language only and this may not be acceptable to Belgium consulate so it's better the birth certificate be in English language. And since the proforma for the certificate is in Hindi with authorities so they allow us to type / print all details in English on a plain paper and take it to them. Municipal authorities then stamp and sign this English language certificate. So the original birth certificate now become in English language.
  2. Now take this English language certificate to the GAD (General Administrative Department) in Bhopal. This office is called Grih ParPatr Vibhag in Bhopal and is situated at 4th floor of Vallabh Bhavan in Bhopal.
  3. It's compulsory that one go personally for this work, no agents are allowed.
  4. Process is easy and takes at most 2 days at GAD
  5. Following is the list of documents you should carry to get attestations:
  • Original birth certificate (in English)
  • Photocopy of Passport
  • 2 Photocopies of Birth certificate or marriage certificate
  • Address Proof (preferably in MP)
  • Offer letter from your current employer
  • An affidavit on Rs 10. stamp paper
  • An application form (given by the officer at the time of application)
  • Passport Photographs
  • an application on plain paper, addressed to Under Secretary
  • All the photocopies must be attested by a notary

Please share any such process you are aware of so that it can be published here and be made available to public.
